OffTEC goes South: The unique training and advanced training centre for the wind industry now has a training location in Bavaria. Based in the north German town of Enge-Sande, the offshore training and development cluster is a byword for comprehensive safety and technical qualifications under almost real conditions. Starting in April in cooperation with the Franconian firm Wiedenmann Seile GmbH we will begin by providing the well-established GWO BST refresher courses for the southerners. Wiedenmann’s training centre in Marktsteft by Würzburg has been equipped for GWO training courses to allow employees involved in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of onshore wind turbines to profit from OffTEC’s renowned know-how within a short distance from their work.
Nord and South hand in hand
In the GWO BST refresher training courses, experienced OffTEC instructors teach all the knowledge and skills required for safety and rescue at height, personal safety, first aid, fire protection and firefighting. “We are delighted to have gained such a highly qualified partner as Wiedenmann”, says OffTEC’s technical managing director Andreas Rauschelbach. “We will be successively expanding the range of services offered in Bavaria as required.” The training courses can be booked as teaching blocks with immediate effect, with the first course starting on 21 April.
Compact refreshers
The southern German location is also easy to reach for wind power employees from Austria and Switzerland and is of interest to them due to the effective training offered. The refresher course lasts three days (24 lessons), from Tuesday to Thursday. It includes GWO First Aid Refresher, GWO Manual Handling Refresher, GWO Working at Heights Refresher and GWO Fire Awareness Refresher. Those who have already completed the four GWO-Standard onshore training modules can refresh their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to obtain a new certification.
